SLYRS Single Malt Whisky Marsala Cask Finish is a special Bavarian single malt whisky produced by SLYRS distillery. It is named after the Marsala liqueur wine, which originates from the Sicilian port town of Marsala and was originally fortified to preserve its freshness when shipped by ship to England.

“Forcing up” means adding distilled alcohol to the grape marc during fermentation, stopping fermentation and preserving the residual sweetness of the grapes. Marsala fortified in this way must be aged for at least one year (Marsala Fine), at least two years (Superiore), three years (Superiore Riserva), five or even ten years in oak or cherry wood barrels.
In these barrels, the fruit aromas of the wine enter the malt and combine with its malty notes.

Colour: dark amber with copper tones.
Aroma: ripe strawberries and redcurrants, slightly sweet.
Taste: aromas of freshly cooked jam and warming nutmeg.
Finish: long with winey and floral notes.
