This version was launched in 1998 and later relaunched in 2013.

Ume (Prunus mume) is a Japanese fruit, related to the apricot and plum, which is used to make a variety of liqueurs and beverages. In Europe, these drinks are usually referred to as Japanese plum wine and plum liqueur, although the fruit itself is different from our plum.

When tasted, it retains the original character of Extra Years, with a pleasant bitterness, herbal notes and spicy accents coming from the red shiso leaves.

About the company
Based in Osaka, the company began its operations in 1914 as a grape producer. In 1959, they began producing CHOYA Umeshu, a traditional Japanese ume liqueur. Today, CHOYA is the world’s leading producer of Umeshu.

Their mission is to produce the finest Umeshu from natural ingredients.

It contains no preservatives!

Ingredients: ume, sugar, cane distillate, perilla extract, vegetable colour.

Aroma: sweet and slightly sour, plum cake, caramel.

Taste: plum cake, caramel, apricot, raisins and a slight spiciness.

The liqueur is combined with premium spirits and fresh citrus to create the perfect balance between sweet and sour, ideal for those who want to experience something new and different.
